I had my first ever live cricket experience two years ago in my hometown – Port Elizabeth. I remember not having a single clue how the sport worked but was still determined to go support the Proteas. I must say though, what stood out for me and ultimately got me hooked to live cricket was the bustling yet relaxed atmosphere at the stadium. Something else that I feel contributed a lot to the calm atmosphere was where we had opted to sit. We made a grass area reservation mainly because of how much more comfortable it would be than sitting on the stands. The overall experience was great for me. Over time, I’ve gotten used to the sport and understand it way way better.
Being the nice person that I am, lol 🙂 , I’ve jotted down the basic things a first-timer would need to know before purchasing a ticket.
QUICK TIP: Bring cash with you. This will come in handy for things like face-painting, cricket merchandise or food/beverages.
