Accommodation is booked, the itinerary has been planned, transportation sorted and you’re ready to hit the road. There’s one more thing left to do though – the most dreaded travelling activity – packing.
I don’t know about you, but the thought of packing drains the life out of me which 10 out of 10 times leaves me packing the day before and worse, forgetting essential items. Creating a simple checklist for myself has made the process much bearable and I’m here to share it with you together with some packing hacks that have made life a lot easier.
Note – this checklist is customized to fit my specific needs so do feel free to alter it and add your own personal items 😊. Another thing, this list is for general travellers and will not be sufficient for campers but worry not – a separate camping checklist will be provided at a later stage

These are some hacks I’ve learnt over the years
- Check the weather forecast for your travelling days
- Buy cheap flip flops to wear when showering (hygiene purposes)
- Bring extra toilet paper
- When packing, roll your clothes instead of folding them – creates more space
- Make sure you know the luggage limit policy of the airline or bus you’re travelling in
- Put your shoes in a separate plastic bad
- Ensure that your liquid items i.e. perfume are in a separate bag
- Download e-books instead of carrying physicals
- To avoid cracking your powder/eyeshadow, place cotton wool between the powder and lid
Happy travelling! 😊

When you said, “The thought of packing drained the life out of me”, I felt that. You know what it is.
